Poetry, Reflections, Tale Africa

By Philani Tyson Nombika, South Africa:

So roses are red and violets are blue.

Orange sunsets make you feel like you have seen eternity.

Kissed the horizon and dinned on stars

My feet and heart seem to whisper symphonies to each other.

Music echoes more life

My earphones have figured how the world sounds.

My mother’s knees know wordless prayers.

Her lips have built silent monuments of praises

I bet with my heartbeats too much.

I know trees that give the best hugs.

Movie stars have out of this world bodies.

I know that my eyes have seen the world.

And in the world I know…

Woman are the closest one can get to god.

I’ve seen that love isn’t always a two way street and giving doesn’t always mean receiving.

Not every smile is happy.

I love you’s mean more in possession than being in love.

Not knowing much makes more sense

I think god is a big man who spies on you.

Holding on to a woman is much more powerful than any weapon

And god knows it
